Dr. Adam A. Francois, D.M.D
Dr. Francois is an Accredited Member in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which is recognized as the highest level of competence in cosmetic dentistry and represents successful completion of the most rigorous accreditation protocol in the industry. Adam is a graduate of Oregon Health Sciences University, School of Dentistry (1995). He received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Physiology and Anatomy from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (1991). He has extensively studied communication, cosmetic dentistry, and surgical and reconstructive aspects of implants. He maintains membership in the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry (where he has attained Fellowship status), Oregon Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Washington County Dental Society (in which he is a past president). Dr. Francois has been voted by his peers in dentistry as one of the best in the Portland metropolitan area, as featured in the TopDentist issue of Portland Monthly magazine. He is experienced and committed to achieving excellence in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is constantly evaluating the latest techniques and dental materials to provide you with the highest quality of dental care available today.
Personal
Dr. Francois opened Sherwood Dental Care in 1996 after deciding it looked like a nice community in which to start a practice and a family. In his spare time, Dr. Francois enjoys hiking, fishing, skiing, golfing, the outdoors, woodworking, and spending time with his wife, Cindy, and their two boys, Drew and Grant (not necessarily in that order, we hope)! Since sleeping on the ground, toilets that don’t flush and biting insects are not Cindy’s idea of a good time, he has big plans for his two boys. Dr. Francois lately has been competing in triathlons.

Vella Vergets
Office Manager
Vella started her dental career in Hawaii in 1990 with a pedodontist. When Vella returned to Oregon, she worked in dental offices in Canby and Woodburn before joining Sherwood Dental Care in 2001. Vella has extensive experience and has learned many things about running an office smoothly in her dental career. She is continually taking classes with a dental emphasis ranging from computer software to communication. Vella has been with us since 2001.
Cindy Francois
Human Resources
Cindy helped her husband, Dr. Francois, open up Sherwood Dental Care back in 1996, shortly after they were married. Bookkeeping and payroll are her two primary functions, but you’ve probably seen her at many community events that we sponsor, like Give ‘n Gobble, Relay for Life, & Music on the Green. Cindy is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Oregon State. She teaches college nutrition classes to health professions students.
Stacey Ritala
Dental Hygenist
Stacey graduated with a Dental Hygiene degree from Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland, Washington in 1998 fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming a Dental Hygienist. She has been with us since 2001. Stacey is committed to learning new techniques to help her patients feel more comfortable. She prides herself in staying up-to-date and regularly attends numerous continuing education classes. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle.
Sandy Eastman
Dental Hygienist
Sandy started with Sherwood Dental Care as a patient back in 1996. When she decided to become a dental hygienist, she observed in our office for six months. In her free time, Sandy enjoys trail running with her dog, golfing, and most of all spending time with her family, including three very special grandchildren.
Heather Riggs
Dental Hygienist
Heather’s interest in dental hygiene was sparked by her childhood dental hygienist and dentist. While in college, she worked as a roving dental assistant learning all aspects of a dental practice. She graduated from Portland Community College in 1998 with a degree in Dental Hygiene and has worked at our office ever since. She is licensed with the Oregon Board of Dentistry and also has endorsements to administer local anesthesia, place sealants and a permit to administer nitrous oxide. Heather is regularly complimented by her clients for gentle and thorough oral hygiene care.
Carol Rallison
Patient Care Coordinator
Carol grew up in Arizona and attended dental assisting school there in 1996. She worked as a hygiene assistant for a couple of years, before taking a break to raise her family. She returned to the dental field in 2013 and has been working as a treatment coordinator ever since. She has worked mostly in oral surgery and periodontics and loves building relationships with patients, helping them achieve their dental goals and gain confidence in their smiles. Becoming a part of the Sherwood Dental team and working in an office that truly values patients and our community has been such a blessing. Carol lives in Sherwood with her husband Jared and also helps him with their small winery and tasting room. When she is not in the office or helping with the winery, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, traveling to warm destinations, and spending time with her family and friends.
Samantha Bryant
Returning Team Member
Samantha (or ‘Sam’ to many of us) graduated from Portland Community College Dental Assisting Program in 2003. She is an Expanded Function Dental Assistant with certificates in radiology, sealants and CPR. In her free time, she loves going camping in their travel trailer with her family, and riding their side-by-side in the Oregon Dunes.
Allison Stoller
Dental Assistant
Allison is a certified dental assistant. She graduated with honors in 2012 from The College of Western Idaho in Boise. She received certificates in radiology, sealants, CPR, and expanded functions dental assisting. Allison lives in Yamhill County with her husband Lance and their daughter Jaiden. She enjoys the outdoors with her family in her spare time.
Jessica Arenas
Dental Assistant
Jessica is a native Oregonian, born in Portland and graduating from McMinnville High School. She now lives in Dayton with her husband and daughter Evelyn. She graduated from the Chemeketa Community College Dental Assisting program in 2017. She is an Expanded Function Dental Assistant with certificates in radiology and CPR. In her free time, Jessica loves spending time with family and enjoys cooking, DIY projects, and playing the accordion.
